Top Ten List: New Years Resolutions

I have a lot of friends that say they don’t make New Year’s Resolutions….I have always laughed when they gave me that line because in my opinion, resolving NOT to make a New Year’s Resolution is in fact a resolution, is it not?   I think it is the mother of all resolutions!   Each year, they have to repeat it to goal oriented people like me, who force them to once again, resolve not to make resolutions.

Ok, I’ll move on. I thought about my resolutions for the year and for your sake, I’ll keep my personal ones to myself. But, I did think of some resolutions for NASCAR Fans in case you want to borrow them.

Resolve to keep in mind that “God Bless America” and “O Canada” are not OUR National Anthem!

To NOT buy anything with a Series Sponsor name on it.

When you finally get to meet “Super Racer”, NOT to pass the cell phone to him/her and say “Here! Say hey to my cousin Maynard!”

NOT to ask a random driver you see in the garage or at a restaurant to get you an autograph from YOUR favorite driver!

To refrain from naming your new-born after your favorite driver. This will keep you from having to explain that you named him after someone who once drove in NASCAR.

To not get a tattoo of our favorite driver’s number. (Let this forever be known as “The Junior Rule”) so stated by me, Kim Crosby, January 2008.

To wear the t-shirt of our favorite driver’s arch nemesis so we know who our “REAL” friends are.

To listen to our headsets in silence and not give a play by play to everyone around us in the stands who don’t care how our favorite driver is doing.

To not walk (or stumble) down to the fence to point down the track as our favorite driver goes flying by as if he/she doesn’t know which way to go…….it’s a CIRCLE!

To keep our mouths shut when the Jr. fan seated (or most likely standing) in front of us, blocks our view and yells JUUUUN-YER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for the 500th time at the Daytona 500.
